About Us - How It all Started

Boutique Provencale was created in 2007 by Sue Aitken. Sue fell in love with Provence many years ago when she was spending a year abroad as part of her French degree. A friend invited Sue to join her on a visit to her brother's house in Sanary sur Mer and she was absolutely blown away by the colours and vibrancy of this small fishing port and the surrounding scenery. Sue returned to Sanary some time later when she was looking to buy a flat in the area – and was delighted to find that nothing much had changed in the intervening years. A passionate advocate of Provence and the provencal lifestyle, Sue set up this website to bring the best of Provence to shoppers in the UK looking for gifts and home accessories that are designed with typical French flair and originality.

All items shown on the site are in stock, so your order should be despatched within 2 working days. UK orders are always sent by first class mail (or courier for larger items) and overseas orders by airmail or courier services to ensure your order gets to you as quickly as possible. Our shipping costs are based on weight and reflect Royal Mail first class postage rates.
